The Triund Trek is one of the most loved short treks in Himachal Pradesh, and for good reason. Just a few kilometres from McLeod Ganj and Dharamshala, this trail gives you a taste of the real Himalayas without needing weeks of preparation or prior trekking experience. It’s often said that no trip to Dharamshala is complete without walking up to Triund, and once you have seen those views, you will know exactly why. Starting from Dharamkot, the trek gently winds through dense oak, rhododendron, and deodar forests. Prayer flags flutter in the cool mountain breeze, birds chirp from the branches, and now and then, you will find a tiny tea stall serving Maggi or chai with a view. The trail is only about 9 km long, but every step feels rewarding, especially when the majestic Dhauladhar Range suddenly appears before your eyes near the top.
