Effective Date: 12/08/2025
Last Updated: 12/08/2025
1. Overview
This Payment Policy governs the processing of payments made through Cosotrip ("Platform"). By using the Platform to book trips or list services, Users ("Travelers") and Hosts ("Trip Organizers") agree to the terms outlined in this Payment Policy. This document is designed to ensure transparency, compliance, and a seamless payment experience for all parties.
2. Payment Gateway Integration
Cosotrip partners with third-party payment processors, to facilitate secure transactions.
The Platform does not store sensitive payment information such as credit card details. All such data is managed by our payment gateway partners in compliance with applicable security standards (e.g., PCI DSS).
3. Payment Methods
Accepted payment methods include:
- Debit and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, etc.)
- UPI (Unified Payments Interface)
- Net banking
- Wallets and other payment systems as supported by the payment gateway
Payment methods may vary depending on the User’s location.
4. Booking and Payment Process
Advance Payment: Travelers must pay an advance amount at the time of booking. This amount is held by Cosotrip until the “Balance Payment Due Date”.
Final Payment: Any remaining balance must be paid as per the schedule defined in the trip terms directly to Hosts (e.g., Balance Payment Due Date).
Booking Confirmation: A trip is considered confirmed only after successful payment processing and Host acceptance.
5. Transaction Fees
Convenience Fee: Cosotrip may charge a nominal convenience fee to Travelers for platform usage. This fee will be displayed during the booking process and is non-refundable.
Host Commission: Hosts agree to pay a commission on each successful booking. The commission percentage is predefined in the Host agreement and is deducted from the total trip amount before payout.
Third-Party Fees: Payment gateway providers may levy additional charges based on the payment method. These charges are displayed during the payment process.
6. Refunds and Cancellations
Refunds are governed by the Host’s cancellation policy selected for the trip:
- Flexible Policy: Full refund up to 1 day before the balance payment date.
- Partial Policy: 50% refund up to 1 day before the balance payment date.
- Strict Policy: Non-refundable.
Please note: Cosotrip’s platform fees and convenience charges are non-refundable under all cancellation scenarios. Refunds are applicable only to the trip amount paid to the Host, subject to the cancellation policy.
Refund requests are processed through the payment gateway and may take 5–10 business days to reflect in the User’s account.
Cosotrip’s liability for refunds is limited to the advance payment received until it is transferred to the Host.
7. Payment Security
Cosotrip employs SSL encryption and other industry-standard security measures to protect payment data.
Users are advised not to share sensitive payment details (e.g., OTPs, PINs) with anyone, including Cosotrip representatives.
8. Host Payouts
Host payouts are processed based on the cancellation policy selected by the Host:
- Full Refund (Flexible):
Payments to Hosts will be transferred after the “balance payment date” as selected by the Hosts during trip listings.
If the Host modifies the last payment date before payment transfer, the payout will occur after the updated balance payment date. - Partial Refund:
50% of the amount will be transferred to the Host as soon as the payment is completed by the Traveler and accepted by the Host (within 1–2 business days, excluding bank holidays).
The remaining 50% will be transferred after the last balance payment date. - Non-Refundable (Strict):
For non-refundable trips, the full amount will be transferred to the Host after booking confirmation (within 1–2 business days, excluding bank holidays).
9. Disputes and Chargebacks
In the event of a payment dispute or chargeback, Cosotrip will mediate between the parties (Traveler and Host) and may require additional documentation to resolve the issue.
If a chargeback is initiated by the Traveler’s bank, Cosotrip reserves the right to temporarily suspend the related User account until the matter is resolved.
10. Taxes
Travelers are responsible for any applicable taxes related to their booking (e.g., GST).
Hosts are required to comply with local tax regulations and include applicable taxes in their trip pricing.
Cosotrip may collect and remit taxes on behalf of Users as required by local laws.
11. Changes to Payment Terms
Cosotrip reserves the right to modify payment terms, fees, and processes. Users will be notified of significant changes via email or platform notifications. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
